Saudi Arabia Sentences Lebanese TV Host to Death for Sorcery
A Lebanese television host, Ali Hussein Sibat, was recognized by Saudi religious police making a pilgrimage to Mecca. He was charged with sorcery because on his show he made predictions about the future of people who called in. He has now been sentenced to death.
Saudi Arabia is a center for Islamic extremism and runs a system of religious schools both in Saudi Arabia and in many other countries around the world based on the Wahhabi reform of Islam. This, like many reforms, is in fact a reversion to primitiveness and violence. Many of the terrorist attackers on 11 September 2001 came from this perverted religious belief. The idea of killing people for sorcery is one straight out of a human era of the utmost superstition and ignorance.
