Among the issues most commonly discussed are individuality, the rights of the individual, the limits of legitimate government, morality, history, economics, government policy, science, business, education, health care, energy, and man-made global warming evaluations. My posts are aimed at intelligent and rational individuals, whose comments are very welcome.

NASA and NOAA Continue to Fudge the Surface Temperature Data

Tony Heller at The Deplorable Climate Science Blog shows how NASA and NOAA have altered the surface temperature data once again to greatly exaggerate global warming.  The maintenance of an appearance of catastrophic man-made global warming requires a continuous program of outright fraud and data fudging.  Here is the comparison of three sets of claimed unaltered temperatures as recorded:

Keep cooling the older temperature readings and keep warming the more recent temperature readings and one can create the appearance of catastrophic man-made global warming.  It is even worse than this comparison graph shows because even the 2000 temperature record had been tampered with in a most unscientific way to exaggerate a warming trend.

For further discussion of the surface temperature data fraud see Paul Matthews' article on climate scientists fiddling the data.

The federal government swamp continues to function in NOAA and much of NASA even two years into the Trump administration.

Government employees, custodians of records, who replace bureau-recorded data with falsified data are committing a federal crime.

Title 18 of the United States Code contains the federal criminal law. Section 2071 sets out the elements of the crime of manipulating or falsifying government records. To summarize the statute, anyone who has official custody of any record on filed in any public office of the United States and willfully and unlawfully mutilates, obliterates, or falsifies such a record has violated the statute and shall be fined or imprisoned for up to three years under it, or both. Generally, a felony is defined as a crime calling for imprisonment in a penitentiary for more than one year. That makes violating Section 2071 a felony, not merely a misdemeanor.

18 U.S. Code § 2071 - Concealment, removal, or mutilation generally

I have informed Senators, congressmen, department chiefs and as many of the personnel involved about the crime, with a copy of the federal statute. I have received only one response and no action.

Thank you for your comment Tom. I am not very surprised that the government is ignoring the enforcement of this law. This is the same government that does not expect many of its employees to show up for as many as 5 or 6 hours of an 8-hour work day. This is the government that allows employees to spend hours a day making long distance phone calls of an entirely personal nature. It is the same government that told us if we liked our health insurance plan and our doctor, we could keep them, and save $2500 a year to boot for a family of four. Basically, our governments make many laws so they can enforce them when it is politically advantageous or will make some official more wealthy or feared. The good government principle of the Rule of Law is remembered, but very inadequately practiced.
